One issue people have is that not everyone can keep a weekly appointment with other obligations, such as family, work and/or school. So what can we do? This would be either following video bought in the form of a DVD or even becoming a member at a tutorial website offering tons of lessons to choose from.
You can keep you own uninterrupted schedule during the week, and you can grab a quick lesson when you can. The main reason people quit after all is because they can't keep their lesson appointments, or something elso in their life gets neglected then they have to dive back into that project.
This often means leaving the guitar lessons on the back burner for some unknown time in the future. So there is a balance to starting something new without making burnout or neglecting other responsibilities.
One great time to take a metal guitar lesson is late at night. Just plug in some headphones and you'll hear it all, but your neighbors won't even know you're practicing! That's what I prefer to do as it relaxes me after a long day, and even improves my sleep.
